The Law Reform and Development Bill, 2024 (Bill No. 15 of 2024), marks a significant legislative milestone for the Kingdom of Eswatini. It aims to provide for the systematic review, development, and modernisation of the country’s legal system by establishing a Law Reform Committee and a corresponding Law Reform Office. If implemented effectively, this Bill could strengthen the rule of law, align national legislation with constitutional and international human rights standards, and promote a legal system responsive to the needs of the people of Eswatini.
