SALC has written to Zambian President Sata expressing its concern at the targeting of journalists allegedly operating the Zambian Watchdog online news publication. Thomas Zganbo and Clayson Hamasaka have been charged with sedition and/or insulting the President. These types of laws, and their application in cases of this sort, have dire implications for freedom of the press and the rights of citizens to access information.
