Keith Baker

Keith Baker is an English Solicitor of some 40 years standing. His core professional speciality is cross-border property and inheritance issues, but he has decades of experience as the head of small firms. Part of his training was in France. He is a long-term member of the International Bar Association (IBA), where his most senior position was Secretary-Treasurer of the Section on General Practice (since re-named the Public and Professional Interest Division). He served on the Management Board of the IBA for six years and was also a member of internal committees dealing with IT development, Risk Management, Finance and Investment, grant oversight and governance.
He was selected by the IBA in 2005 to be one of the Founding Trustees of The Southern Africa Human Rights Litigation Trust, stepping down in 2019. He has recently re-joined the Board at the express request of the Executive Director of the IBA. He is a life member of the IBA Human Rights Institute, was made an Honorary Life Member in 2011 and received a further long-service award in 2019. In 2020 he was part of the 4-person campaign team which resulted in the election of the late Sternford Moyo as the first African President of the IBA.
