Since joining SALC in 2021, Luntha Chimbwete has seen her role and responsibilities change from Research Assistant, Researcher and now holds the Criminal Justice Researcher position. She is a human rights lawyer and activist who holds an LLB (Hons) degree obtained from the University of Malawi.
Before joining SALC, she worked as a legal intern for Centre for Human Rights Education, Advice and Assistance (CHREAA) and Churchill & Norris Law Firm. She was also a fellow at Reprieve seeking to achieve the abolishment of the death penalty and torture of suspects and prisoners in Malawi.
