Muleya Mwananyanda is a human rights advocate, researcher, and campaigner with vast global experience. She is relentless in the pursuit of justice and accountability. She has been a driving force behind efforts to protect marginalized communities and advance human rights across Southern Africa and beyond.

With a background in international law, Muleya has played a pivotal role in shaping progressive reforms that empower local communities through legal action. Her work spans from grassroots mobilization to high-level political advocacy, demonstrating her commitment to real, lasting change.

Muleya has held key positions throughout her career, including serving as a lawyer at Law Associates in Tanzania, Campaign Manager for the Global Campaign for Education, and Oxfam. She currently leads as the Director for Influencing and Partnerships at UNAIDS and previously served as Interim Regional Director for East and Southern Africa at Amnesty International. Muleya’s early career also includes a stint as a journalist, bringing a diverse perspective to her human rights work.
