SALC Congratulates Zimbabwean lawyer and SALC trustee, Sternford Moyo, on his nomination as International Bar Association president-elect

SALC would like to extend its congratulations to Sternford Moyo, a prominent Zimbabwean lawyer and SALC trustee, on his nomination to stand unopposed for election as president of the International Bar Association (IBA). Moyo will be elected to serve from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2022.

SALC Executive Director, Kaajal Ramjathan-Keogh stated: “We are delighted that the IBA will have its first African lawyer to head the esteemed global voice of the legal profession.”

Sternford Moyo has been a legal practitioner in Zimbabwe for 34 years. He is the Chairperson  and Senior Partner of Scanlen & Holderness, Chairperson of Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe Limited, Chairperson of Schweppes Zimbabwe Limited, Chairperson of African Regional Forum of the International Bar Association, Former President of the Law Society of Zimbabwe and the SADC Lawyers Association, Former Co-chair of the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute and Director of Alpha Media Holdings (Pvt) Ltd and PPC Zimbabwe Ltd.
