
The Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No. 2) Bill, 2019 (‘the Amendment Bill’) was published in Zimbabwe’s Government Gazette on 31 December 2019. The Bill seeks to make changes to the current Constitution of Zimbabwe (‘the 2013 Constitution’), establishing the rules and principles by which the polity of Zimbabwe is governed. In total there are 27 proposed amendments. These relate mainly to the legislative and executive arms of government and the judiciary. This policy brief considers the Amendment Bill in so far as it relates to the judiciary and the Prosecutor-General.
