SALC and other civil society partners submitted an open letter to the African Union (AU) raising concerns regarding the State of Emergency in Zambia. The open letter warns that the three months extension of the threatened state of emergency in Zambia may hamper the enjoyment of fundamental rights and freedoms by ordinary citizens. The concerned organisations argue that there are no justifiable reasons to support the current state of affairs and they conclude by requesting the AU to engage the Zambia authorities to improve the current situation. Please see full text of the open letter here.
